Jessica Church
Political Director
Jessica Church, our Political Director, creates and implements political strategy, leveraging our research and partnerships to ensure we’re electing democracy champions and equipping them with the information they need to pass meaningful legislation.
Immediately prior to joining Public Wise, Jessica was the Advocacy and Political Manager for Take On Wall Street at Americans for Financial Reform (AFR). There, she led a coalition of labor unions and non-profits, managed legislative advocacy on a range of financial issues, and developed the organization’s first dedicated electoral political program.
Prior to working at AFR, Jessica was the Director of State and Local Campaigns for End Citizens United/Let America Vote where she oversaw coordinated side electoral work focused on Attorney General, Secretary of State, and state legislative races in the 2022 cycle. In 2020, she was their Deputy Political Director focused on red to blue Congressional races. She has also worked at the National Women’s Law Center, the South Carolina Democratic Party, and on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Jessica has a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School. Outside of Public Wise, Jessica volunteers with Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and she is an active member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church located in Washington, DC. For leisure, Jessica enjoys spending time in Central Virginia exploring food, wine, and the outdoors.
