Meet Our Team

Prior to joining Public Wise, Gabriela Rivera was the Field Director for the Paid Leave for All campaign where she helped develop and implement the nation’s strategic plan to spread awareness and to advance support for paid family and medical leave across the country. 

Gabriela Rivera is a seasoned campaign staffer at the local, state and national level, including Hillary for America’s 2016 and Mike Bloomberg’s 2020 presidential campaigns.  She has also worked on environmental issues throughout her career. At Moms Clean Air Force she developed and implemented the Ecomadres program aimed at engaging and empowering Latinx mothers around the issues of climate change, clean air and toxics. 

Gabriela is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego where she received a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of San Francisco. She is originally from Mexico but was raised in Southern California.  Gabriela’s work has been featured in various media outlets such as El Tiempo Latino, REMEZCLA, The People, and in the upcoming book called COOL: Women Leaders Reversing Global Warming.
