When are others going to admit that election denialism and white supremacy are now the main tenets of the Republican Party?
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Public Wise, an organization committed to fighting for a multiracial democracy that reflects the will and protects the rights of the people, released the following statement on inability of the Republican Party to align on a Speaker of the House:
“When are others going to admit that election denialism and white supremacy are now the main tenets of the Republican Party? The Republican Party is the party of chaos, corruption, and scandal, with former fringe, extremist members now running the operation. Leading Republican Senate, House, and gubernatorial candidates in key swing states continue to deny that President Biden won the 2020 election. They are a party that spent weeks unable to align on a single leader to put forward for Speaker of the House and are now rallying around Jim Jordan, one of the architects of the January 6th insurrection, a continued election denier, and a mouthpiece for former President Donald Trump. Just two years after playing a role in an anti-democratic, deadly attack on the Capitol, Jim Jordan could be third in line for the presidency of the United States.
The world is watching as we are unable to address critical international issues and basic government functions, beholden to a power hungry fringe minority who care more about sowing discord on Fox News than delivering for the American people,” said Christina Baal-Owens, executive director of Public Wise and the Insurrection Index.
